Sorsha Galvin has over 18 years’ experience working with community groups across a wide range of settings, including care homes, day services, schools, and community organisations.

Sorsha works collaboratively with each group to develop a unique project tailored to their interests, needs, and abilities. Projects can be purely therapeutic or work towards a specific goal, such as an exhibition, performance, or the creation of a product.

Projects range from a one-off pottery class to a six-week drawing and animation workshop, or even longer-term collaborations over six months to design and create a range of screen-printed clothing to sell.

Sorsha has successfully secured grants for many community arts projects and can support your group in preparing and submitting funding applications to relevant bodies such as the GRETB, Arts Council, City Council, County Council, Creative Ireland, and other local arts and community funding schemes, helping to make your creative project possible.

Choose a Workshops

  • Prop making

Enhance your performance or production by working with Sorsha over 6–8 weeks to design and create bespoke props for your stage or film projects. Throughout the workshop, you’ll explore paper‑mâché, textiles, and other handmade construction techniques, developing unique, expressive pieces that support your creative vision.

  • Design

Explore product design through drawing, painting, clothing creation, and homeware design. Participants develop original concepts and turn them into finished pieces that can be used to raise money for your organisation. This workshop encourages playful experimentation while guiding groups through the full creative process from idea to sellable product.

  • Animation

A longer‑term six‑month animation project combining acting, music, drawing, and short‑film creation. Over the course of the programme, participants collaborate to develop characters, sound, movement, and visual storytelling, working towards the production of a finished short animated film.

The project concludes with a public screening, celebrating the group’s creative work and offering a platform to share the final film with an audience.

  • Painting and drawing

Drawing and painting workshop for groups of 6–15 participants, designed to help you explore colour, texture, and expressive mark‑making. Over the sessions, you’ll develop your own acrylic or watercolour artworks and work towards a group exhibition showcasing the pieces created during the workshop.

  • Pottery

Explore the therapeutic qualities of clay in a gentle, creative 6‑week workshop designed for groups of 6–15 participants. Over the course of the programme, you’ll experiment with hand‑building techniques, develop your own ceramic pieces, and have your finished work fired and glazed in a kiln.

At the end of the workshop, you can choose to hold an exhibition of the artwork created, or work with Sorsha to take part in a market‑style craft sale, showcasing and selling your handmade pieces.

  • Printmaking

A three‑week lino‑printing course where you’ll develop your own designs, learn how to carve lino safely and effectively, and explore different ways to print your work. Participants can choose to print onto clothing, create artworks for exhibition, or use their lino blocks to produce repeat prints for cards, posters, and small‑batch products.

Working with Sorsha was a wonderful experience. Her creativity, patience, and ability to engage every participant made the project both enjoyable and meaningful.
